Sarah Langer Sarah Langer serves as Collaborative Development Coordinator for the Physical Activity and Nutrition Branch. She supports efforts to implement an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funded worksite wellness project.

Sarah received her Master of Public Health from the University at Albany, School of Public Health in 2001 with a concentration in Health Policy, Management & Behavior. She comes to the PAN Branch from the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) where she worked with the NC Healthy Schools Initiative. At DPI, she was an advocate for coordinated school health programs and collected data on student risk behaviors to illustrate that healthy students learn better. She also collected data on school health policies and programs that were used to influence legislative and state board policy. She has written and received several grants from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Association of State Boards of Education to strengthen policies and programs in the state.

Sarah sits on many statewide boards, including the NCPTA Health and Welfare Commission, NCAAHPERD Board of Trustees and the East Carolina University, Department of Health Education and Promotion, Master of Arts in School Health Education Advisory. In her free time she trains for marathons and hopes to one day qualify for Boston.
