David HallDavid Hall serves as the Coordinator of the Faithful Families Eating Smart and Moving More initiative, a collaborative effort of the NC Cooperative Extension's Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) and the Physical Activity and Nutrition Branch of the NC Division of Public Health. In this role, David conducts outreach to faith communities to obtain commitments for the Faithful Families project. He works with local partners to conduct health assessments in the communities and provide training for faith community leaders to create an action plan and implement policy and environmental changes, using the results from the assessments. He also provides technical assistance to faith communities in implementing the policy and environmental changes.

Prior to joining the PAN branch, David served as Health Promotion Coordinator in Orange and Henderson Counties, working with community partners to encourage policy and environmental change related to nutrition, physical activity, and tobacco. He also worked for five years as a health educator in a school-based health center in Hendersonville, NC. He has more than 15 years experience serving on church staffs in South Carolina, Louisiana, and North Carolina.

David earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religion/ Pre-Medicine from Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC. He holds a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a Master of Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.

David and his wife, Shannon, have three children and reside in Mebane. David enjoys being active with his family, coaching his son's sports teams, and working in their church.
