Deborah Dolan serves as one of the three Community Development Specialists for the Physical Activity and Nutrition (PAN) Branch, N.C. Division of Public Health. In this position she provides training and technical assistance to local health departments and community partners implementing policy and environmental changes supportive of healthy eating, physical activity, and tobacco use prevention.
Prior to joining the PAN Branch, Deborah's work includes Consulting with the Tobacco Prevention and Control Branch, providing technical assistance and training to CDC and Health and Wellness Trust Fund grants in the Central region of North Carolina, work with Wake County Human Services as the Project ASSIST Coordinator where she developed the NC Smoke-Free Dining Decal, work with the Communicable Disease Prevention and School Health teams within Wake County Government and work with the Granville-Vance District Health Department where she was responsible for Maternal and Child Health, Communicable Disease Prevention, Family Planning, School Health and Women's Health programs.
Deborah holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in School and Community Health with a Concentration in Worksite Health Promotion from East Carolina University. Deborah enjoys working out, traveling, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
